The Emirates Golf Club is called the “desert miracle”, as it shines with rich greenery and exotic flora and fauna. The four courses have won numerous awards and are considered to be one of the best in the world. Opened in 1988, it is host to the European Tour, Omega Dubai Desert Classic and Omega Dubai Ladies Masters. At the time of opening it was the first grass championship course in the Middle East. It has also been ranked in the top 100 worldwide by Golf World.
The Majlis is a 72-par course measuring 7,301-yards. The holes were built around the dunes of a site owned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who requested the unique desert flora be preserved. The course also has seven lakes, both fresh and saltwater.
The Faldo course is second place but still a championship-caliber, measuring 7,348 yards and 72-par and it’s built around a ravine. The course is a bit more rugged than the Majlis but provides a unique challenge all its own, as well as scenic views. It is fully floodlit, providing great atmosphere for night golf.
The Par 3 course is a bit of a smaller and it’s ideal for beginners, it measures 1,239 yards. It is also fun for experienced players hoping to work on their short game skills and improving on their iron play. It also boasts some of the best scenic views of all three courses, given the view of the amazing Dubai Marina skyline.
In addition to world class golfing, the club here has dining facilities. Le Classique serves French delicacies, while M features Mediterranean dishes, and the Spike Bar offers terrace views with buffet meals. On site are driving ranges and a shop for golfing supplies.
