Dubai Marina Yacht Club

There are four marinas administered by the Dubai Marina Yacht Club (DMYC). They are located at different points along the 3.5km Dubai Marina Canal. In the premier stands the DMYC’s club house. It is host to two restaurants, handful of yacht chartering companies and a cigar lounge.

The Marinas

Every berth has individual power (ranging from 32amp to 125amp) so you can recharge your boat’s batteries. You can also refill your fresh water supplies at the dock.

The East Marina was built in 2007 - the first of four marinas to be built. It has room for 208 yachts and was designed to mimic the European-style marina. The dock hugs an open air promenade with a hub of shops, cafes and restaurants. There is easy access from the Marina villas and apartment blocks.

The Club House Marina has premier position, located in front of DMYC’s club house. It has room for 134 yachts along the floating concrete dock and it can only be accessed by card holders.

The West Bay Marina is set apart from the others to provide a more tranquil atmosphere. It is still within walking distance from the main clubhouse and offers a golf buggy service to take you there. It has room for 100 yachts and has extra-large berths for superyachts.

The Mall Marina fits 74 yachts and offers direct access to Dubai Marina Mall and its array of shops and exclusive boutiques. The famous hotel, The Address is also at this location. A golf buggy will transport you to the clubhouse too.

DMYC - Frontal Exterior

The DMYC is home to a handful of yacht brokers, chartering companies and yacht sellers. You can buy or charter anything from a frisky sports boat to a grand superyacht.

Naturally, yachting is also about the lifestyle. So there are plenty of nautical boutiques stocked full of crisp white slacks, blazers and striped tops. You can also buy all the tools and gear you need for your boat at the ship chandlery.

There is a state-of-the-art boat repair service with a 50-ton travel lift and 3-ton jib crane. They will do everything from cleaning and repainting the hull to electrical repairs.

DMYC, like the golf course, provides an informal environment to meet with business partners. For large groups, the Al Dana conference suit is 200sq metres of space with floor-to-ceiling windows. It features full dining options, a licensed bar on the terrace and green lawn.

Members Only

The Cigar Lounge is an elegant way to spend the evening. The cigar sommelier will recommend you a choice from the selection of fine cigars kept at the perfect level of humidity in the humidor. The leather chairs and billiards table will make you feel more like a first-class passenger on the Titanic and you don't have to worry about sinking because icebergs melt out here. It’s a win-win situation.

The Chart Lounge has a lovely balcony and fresh lawn that overlooks the marina. Thumb through nautical volumes and detailed maps in the library and treat your friends and family to a cocktail reception.

The Athena Charter Yacht

The DMYC’s own luxury yacht is fully licensed and available to hire for parties and functions. It can accommodate up to 14 guests, is fully air conditioned, serves delicious canopies and has a fully staffed crew on hand to take you on a journey through the Arabian Gulf.

Cafe Bistro

The DMYC is home to two restaurants. The 25º55º Bistro is named after Dubai’s nautical coordinates and serves an international menu designed to please its well-traveled clientele. It is attached to a deli-style food hall where club members can order food to be delivered to their yachts.

The Aquara restaurant is the DMYC’s fine dining option. It serves seafood with an Asian twist. I hear it’s not uncommon to see Sheikh Maktoum, the monarch of Dubai, dining here with his entourage.
