Office Rents Declined, But Mid-Range And Higher Apartment Rents Showed Little Change
Many areas of Dubai had no change during September for apartment rents, but office rents did decline. In the Dubai Marina area however, there was a slight drop in apartment rents, but the majority of the more expensive studies did not show a change from August to September.

One of the reasons these rents have stabilized is due to the short term tenancy contracts. Many people are looking to lease only for a few months instead a year-long contact. This is due in part to the unemployment rate or that some people feel their current employment is not quite stable. They simply do not want to be locked into a long term contract.
The average rents for two and three bedroom apartments dropped in September slightly from Dh70,000-90,000 from Dh 75,000-95,000 in August. Studios and one-bedroom flats remained somewhat unchanged from Dh35,000-50,000 to Dh50,000-Dh75,000.
One of the deciding factors for apartment rents is location in proximity to a Metro stop. Rents are expected to rise for the apartments located just a short distance from this convenient transportation.
